I knew I shouldn't even think about you anymore. After finally taking my place as Champion, I shouldn't think of anyone who isn't in the Elite Four unless they are a worthy Challenger, which I never thought of you as. So when I left the League for the holidays, you should have never been on my mind at all. So why couldn't I think of anything but you?
This is what was on my mind as I was waiting in Sandgem, none other then your hometown, for Barry, my childhood friend. Although in reality I was waiting for him, it felt as though I was waiting for you to appear, and I shunned myself for dreaming of you whisking me away before Barry arriv
"And we conclude this exciting episode of 'Johto Journeys!' Over and out! Bye!" the reporter on the T.V. screen chirped with a wink as the credits started to roll. Barry, my childhood friend,'s eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Hey, hey, Lucas! Now that I think about it, we have a lake nearby, don't we?" he exclaimed, his blond bangs bouncing.
"Yes....?" I replied uncertainly.
"Why don't we explore it?" Barry bounced back.
"I don't.... I don't know, Barry. No one- and I mean no one- explores Lake Verity. I mean, haven't you heard the legends? Barry, it just isn't safe. Why don't we... I don't know, watch a movie or someth
I blinked the sleep out of my eyes as I turned over in bed. Sunshine creaked through the wide window on the wall. Shaking my head sleepily, I forced myself to sit up. I looked at my surroundings, as I hadn't had much energy to last night. I hadn't noticed how tired I was until I saw Dawn's family's spare bed, and then I wanted to collapse. Not to mention I still hadn't met her family, as her little sister and grandfather had been the only ones home, and they were already in bed when we arrived. I wonder how her parents would react when they found Barry sleeping on their spare bedroom floor. And me in their kitchen, helping Dawn with breakfast
I glanced up at the cloudy sky. It looked like it was waiting for me to knock so it could dump buckets on Sandgem. I looked at the door of Dawn's house nervously. Taking in a breath, I lifted my hand to knock, when suddenly...
"Lucas! You came!" Sunny cried cheerfully, almost knocking me over with the door. She smiled happily, and I had no choice but to smile back.
"Yep. I'm here. So... Where's your mom?"
She looked down, her face forlorn. "I was hoping you would play with me," she murmured sadly. I flashed a sad grin at her.
"Well, I would Sunny, but..." I started, but Princess held her fin out. She then pointed to he
I looked up at the contest hall nervously, tugging at my thick scarf. Although I had spent the majority of yesterday training, I couldn't help but be concerned about how Pharaoh would perform. I looked down at the Shinx with this thought, but he just looked back at me innocently. I raised my eyebrows. Whatever.
"Aww.... Your Shinx is too cute!" a slightly bubbly, but no where near Dawn's, voice cooed behind me. I glanced back at the speaker. She was a brunette, same age as me (I think), and her hair reached somewhere around her knees. Her hoodie was blue, and the zipper that rested on her chest was unusually large. Her navy blue j
I awoke the next morning to the faint glow of sunrise and the smell of something burning. "Dawn?" I started groggily as I turned over in my sleeping bag. "What is that smell?"
"Toast! Cooked with the goodness of the wilderness!" she chirped in reply while swinging a spatula around. She was already dressed, this time in a pink hoodie and black leggings. Her feet and head still wore the boots and hat from before. I sighed.
"Dawn, I'm pretty sure you don't make toast with a spatula," I told her patiently.
"When you're using a campfire instead of a toaster you do..." Dawn said sheepishly while pursing her lips.
"Dawn, here. I'll do it," I sai
The end of summer was nearing. Now, you could begin to taste the soft feeling of leaves changing colour, and boys had started to pull on their T-shirts while girls exchanged their spaghetti straps for clothes with a little more coverage on the arms. And most importantly, peoples lives-much like the falling leaves, which just months ago had begun to grow after a cold winter-were about to change. Very much.
Morty, an upperclassman at the nearby high school, knew this. He could taste it in the smell of the incense he lit every night; change was coming. He didn't know exactly what this change was, or who it would effect. He just knew change was
"Leaf? Leaf, get up." I groaned, ignoring the hand that had a secure grip on my arm. "No way Mom. I'm sleeping in. It's summer." I heard a hefty sigh, and the sound of a chair being pulled up by the bed.
"Hon, now you figure out that out? It's the first day of school. Get up and dressed so that I can meet you downstairs. The bus will be here..." she trailed off, most likely to look at her watch. "In five minutes. You better hurry, unless you want Gary and his sister to drive you." Actually, that sounded very appealing. Even if I'd have to put up with Gary's girly older sister Daisy for the ten minute drive to the school, it'd be better then

Ethan and I walked happily towards the cafeteria, softly exchanging whispers with each other as Morty walked behind us silently. I lifted my head at the sound of my name being called, smiling once I saw Leaf waving from a nearby table. I sat down beside her, Ethan sitting beside me as Morty placed himself on the other side of him. I opened my red bag, pulling out a sandwich before I leaned in beside Leaf.
"So. How were your classes?" Leaf sighed. "You know that professor guy from your neighborhood? He's my Health and Careers teacher." I giggled.
"Professor Elm? That's cool. I didn't know he worked here," I repli

"Leaf, what happened?" Red looked at Leaf who was sitting on the grass with a red mark on her knee.
"I tripped." Leaf turned her head to hide her embarrassment.
Red sighed and held out his hand. Leaf looked at him for a moment then grabbed his hand but instead of helping her up, Red instead shifted her onto his back.
"R-Red! What are you ?!" Leaf yelped.
"You can't walk right now. I'm taking you back to my place to put some ice on that mark." Red replied with a smile.
Instead of arguing with back at him, Leaf instead put her arms around Red's neck while he walked.
"When did you turn into such a gentleman?"
